I'm now about to start writing my speech for the NDC. The motion I will be moving is number 93 Cuba, Haiti & Unison. This motion has been prioritised, therefore is much more likely to come up this week. I hope it does, although as a first time speaker at NDC I'm very very very nervous. Hence the title of this blog. The motion is not likely to be tomorrow but I want to be prepared anyway just in case.
The amazing Cuban team of 938 doctors/workers etc have treated over 50,000 Haitians. I, and hopefully the delegates, will vote to call on governments, government organisations, the World Bank, and the IMF, to immediately cancel all of Haiti's debt.
