Yesterday

Well...

Yesterday was a mega busy day. Very enjoyable though.

We had a hearty breakfast then made our way down the coast to the conference centre in the gorgeous sunshine. Debating whether a first time buyer could afford to buy a challet.

The WET conference was a great experience. Annie and I were nervous and both got a round of applause when we stated we were first time speakers. As the day went on I was loving the speaking. All our amendments and motion got passed, which wa an excellent result.

I then attended an LGBT meeting whilst the rest of Branch went back to the hotel to freshen up.

After the meeting we all then attended a delegates welcome meeting and social which was an absolute scream. We met so many people. In our drunken stupor we latched on to poor Steve from Severn Trent Water and some lovely girls from the Environment Agency. We all went for a meal to a gorgeous Italian restaurant.

Annie and I screamed with laughter all night after an intense day of debating and learning...

I am so pleased with how our Branch conducted themselves. We networked and promoted a positive image of our Branch and also Yorkshire Water. We really did raise our profile and it was so interesting to meet with and discuss isses with our fellow UNISON colleagues. Everything should always be about making friends and building bridges.
